Reins

We carry several styles of reins that we believe work best for long distance and trail riding. The "round rein" styles are multi-functional - you can use as reins, as a lead, or tail your horse up a hill with them. Our BioThane® reins are durable and lightweight and perfect for those who like a more traditional schooling rein feel.

Round Reins

Round reins are great for multi-uses. They can be used to tie with, lead with, tail with and ride with. They come in a solid roper-style rein (one piece). They are slightly adjustable on each end and come with solid-brass hardware for safety and durability. We carry two different round rein styles in solid colors and multi-colors.

BioThane® Reins

Made-to-order - Not returnable or exchangeable. Made from durable and lightweight BioThane®, these reins will last a long time. Come with solid brass scissor clips on each end. Available with several options and in 1/2" or 3/4" widths:

Rubber Grips- An option on all of our BioThane® reins. A rubber grip material is sewn in 18" segments on each side of the rein to provide better hand grip especially in wet weather. We recommend rubber grips for any of the standard BioThane® materials. However, we do not recommend grips for the Beta Series BioThane®, due to the non-slip texture of the Beta material.

Center Buckle- This is an option on all of our BioThane® reins. A center buckle makes the rein similar to a traditional snaffle rein. The buckle can be used to help visualize even placement of hands, or unbuckle to easily put through the rings on a martingale (this is only for martingales that have rings too small for the scissor clips on the end of the reins to feed through).

No Center Buckle- This option is for those who like a solid, one-piece roper-style rein.
